Shout-out to Kristian Lopez for buying me a few virtual coffees and Melissa (Mea) for signing up as my first yearly subscriber! βοΈ Thank you both so much for your support!
--------------
This past Tuesday (the 14th), I celebrated my 9 year blogiversary and raised a glass of Whiskey Ginger while munching on some DiGiornio pizza. It's crazy to think that I started techbizgurl.com 9 years ago. And next week I'll turn 39. π What a journey it has been.
I've learned so many lessons (some of them I shared over on Instagram), met so many incredible people, and I'm still here. The business is different than what I initially thought but every year that passes I feel like it's more me. As I learn more about myself, the business reflects that. And my mission of empowering women has remained the same.
I'm a connector and a curator. I do that easily, naturally, so I created this newsletter and it's been such a fun experience. I'm good at helping others figure out their next action step and breaking down big goals into more manageable baby steps, so I'm looking to create a mentoring offer that goes along with that.
Mostly, as I look back over the years, I am so incredibly thankful for you. Thank you for reading, sharing, supporting, replying and being here with me week after week. I know that times are really hard right now and there is a lot of fear and anxiety, but I truly believe we will come out of this so much stronger.
For some of us, I think this time is being used to help us get in touch with ourselves in a way we haven't had the time or space to do before. For others, it's a time to create, to reflect. To pause. All good things. All necessary things.
Just know that I will continue to be here for you to help you create your side hustles, yes but also to listen, to hold your hand (virtually), and to help, however I can. π
On to the picks!
P.S. If you want to have a chat about anything, let's grab a virtual coffee.

πΊ Watching: The Magicians.Β I started watching this show when it first started a few years ago but then fell behind so Iβm rewatching from the beginning. Itβs definitely a nice escape from everything going on in the world. And magic! π§πΎββοΈ
π§ Listening: To my podcast episode with my career coach friend Martin McGovern. We talk side hustles, how to get started, how to find time, but also about how to use it as an advantage as part of your job search and career.
π Reading:Β break your glass slippers (You Are Your Own Fairy Tale) by Amanda Lovelace. Such a wonderful read.Β The book tells the story of Cinderella in poem form and "is about overcoming those who don't see your worth, even if that person is sometimes yourself." I think I may have highlighted most of the book.Β π
𧳠Tool: Netflix Party. If you want to watch a movie virtually with friends and have it synced along with group chat, check out this free Chrome extension. Me and my friends tried it last night and it was awesome. We watched Always a Bridesmaid and had a blast!

I don't think these are ridiculous at all. There are some great ideas in here - I especially think the "wake up call" idea sounds cool.
Think You're Doing This Quarantine Thing Terribly? I've Got You Beat (But There's Still Hope) β goinswriter.com
Not that it's a competition by any means, but I love how Jeff shares how he is coping during quarantine, his new best friend (ice cream), and provides three tips that he's found useful during this time: (1) sticking with something stable, (2) creating something stupid - my personal fave and (3) having something new to start.
26 Ways To Improve Your Tweets And Grow Your Following β medium.com
I go back and forth with posting on Twitter but there are some great tips in here from Josh about ways you can use the power of tweets for good.
Short Workouts - Well Guides β www.nytimes.com
It's crazy how much incidental exercise I get just on a normal day, walking to the bus, commuting, walking to meetings, etc. And I can say I'm definitely not getting those steps in now. But the idea of a long workout, just makes me want to go back to bed. Here are some short ones that may be of interest. I personally love 7 minute workouts. Or putting on a 3-4 minute song and rocking out.
