"And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good." ~John Steinbeck
Yay it's May! It seems like April flew by - although I did have a pretty eventful and busy month. How about you?
The week started with the BOOM networking event which was a fun evening where I was able to meet (and catch up with) some cool people. Also recorded probably my first ever Facebook Live interview. 🙌🏾 I talked about Tech Biz Gurl, my new job at General Assembly and the secret to my success (networking!!).
On the job front, I can almost feel a bit of the rhythm coming. Sometimes you don't even notice how things get a little bit easier and less scary over time. My friend Eric reminded me this week that as business owners it's really important for us to enjoy the journey. It was an epiphany for me because I've been focusing so much on getting everything done and perfect that I have not even really stopped to enjoy the process and the impact that I'm making every day. It's easier said than done for sure but it brought me back to the theme I wanted to focus on for 2018: presence.
Also, I've realized that I want to intentionally build little aspects of self-care into my day like 15-minute walks, getting ice cream when I feel like it, reading before bed, and the occasional chair massage at Chill. 💆🏽♀️
On to the picks for the week!
P.S. If you haven't done it yet, go and change your Twitter password. Here's why.
