“Be still, my soul in the chaos of things.” ⏸~Morgan Harper Nichols
Well, this week did not go as planned. I wonder if it’s a January thing or drum roll, please, Mercury Retrograde rearing its ugly head. Poor Mercury gets such a bad rap, but I mean...*gestures wildly*... weird things do happen during this time.
Speaking of weird things, me and grandma both have COVID. I am hoping both of our cases are mild, and we’ll be feeling better soon, but it’s been tough, to say the least, to juggle all the things. I am so glad that work and friends have been so supportive and are giving us the space, time, and healing vibes to get better.
Please be safe and stay well, my friend. 🤗 I’ll be taking this opportunity to prioritize self-care and maybe do some thinking and low-stress planning for 2022.

📚. Reading: The Plot. Writer guy who struggles to write another book runs across one of his students with an unbelievable plot to the story he is writing. After finding out that the student died without writing the book, the writer guy steals the story’s plot, writes his own book, and is wildly successful. But someone knows the truth. 😱 Dun dun dun.
📺. Watching: Adele: One Night Only. Late as always, but I finally had the opportunity to watch Adele’s concert and interview with Oprah this week. I was blown away. She talked a lot about the inspiration for her new album 30, her struggles with her marriage, and how it affected her and her son’s lives. It was an unbelievably vulnerable and inspiring 90 minutes.
🎧. Listening: Grow Your Online Business Fan Club. While recovering, I started listening to this 90-ish minute course on getting in front of people who don’t know you yet. Because as I learned, a freebie does not help you grow your audience. 🤯 Are you shocked too? I think what I’ve learned is that getting in front of other people’s audiences has helped me grow my subscribers, so I’m excited to learn more about this concept. Get the course for $29 through Monday (1/24) night. And it includes audio access, so I’m listening to it in a podcast app.

This One Skill Should Be Your Priority For 2022, No Matter Your Goals — medium.com
“If you want to succeed at anything — business, fitness, investing — focus on being consistent. Learn consistently. Create consistently. Do consistently. It’s the key to extraordinary results.”
I have found this to be true. #jesspicks has been the one thing I’ve been able to do consistently for over five years and has led to so much opportunity for me. And consistency can look different to each of us. For me, it’s doing this newsletter weekly. For you, it could be bi-weekly or monthly. So, please, take the time to figure out what cadence and medium works best for you.

An oldie but goodie. Steph is speaking my language in this post. Love this part especially:
“Most people overestimate what they can do in a day, but underestimate what they can do in a year.”
