And your September training topic is...🥁 (#335)
Last week I was thinking about Josh Spector’s Sessions framework and if it would work for me as a business model. In proper baby step form, I wanted to see if you were interested in one training session to start before I made any plans.
Soooo the votes are in, and of the four topics presented, it looks like you really really want to know about curated newsletters!
And I did get at least ten votes, so this training is happening! Huzzah! 🎉
So in terms of next steps, here’s what I’m thinking:
take your questions and see if I can put them into 3-4 buckets for the training
figure out a date/time to do the training (thinking a Tuesday or Thursday currently)
think through the tech for the training session (Zoom? or something else?)
figure out tech for payment and signup
If I can, I aim to get a registration page up by the next issue. 🤞🏾Stay tuned!
In other news, I’ve felt extremely low energy this week. If I had to guess, it’s just my body finally catching up to some of the overwhelm I felt last week. But in addition to getting validation that my doing a training session is a good idea (!!), here are a few other things that kept me going and motivated this week:
Returning to dance class after missing it last week, we did Soul Town Funk (think James Brown, Bruno Mars, Prince!)
Catching up with a friend over coffee. Filled up my cup.
Seeing MJ: The Musical. It was everything I thought it could be and more. The casting of Michael Jackson was phenomenal. If you get a chance to see it, I highly recommend it.
Getting some natural vitamin D and spending time by the water.
Did you take a baby step this week? What made you smile?
On to the picks!

📺. Watching: The Killing. I was looking for a new gripping show to watch, and after being in this psychological thriller Facebook group, this show kept being recommended. A teenage girl is found murdered, and the storyline centers around the family affected, the detectives investigating the case, and a political campaign. Just started season 2!
📚. Reading: The Inheritance Games. I read this a couple of years ago, and after several nights of not sleeping, I couldn’t wait for the next book. Now that I just discovered book 4 is coming out later this month, I thought now was a good time for a re-read. Here’s the premise: “Avery Grambs has a plan for a better future: survive high school, win a scholarship, and get out. But her fortunes change instantly when billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies, leaving Avery virtually his entire fortune. The catch? Avery has no idea why -- or even who Tobias Hawthorne is.” Dun, dun dun.
