"Change the world by being yourself." ππΎββοΈ~Amy Poehler
Shout-out to my gurl Marti for this week's quote-spiration!
This week, my hand pain was getting a lot of worse, so my coworker (thanks Lauren!) suggested tele-health as an option. I was able to have my first ever Dr. on Demand visit. In a nutshell? It was pretty awesome. Good news is I don't have carpal tunnel. ππΎ Bad news is that it is most likely repetitive strain. ππΎ The doc prescribed some meds that are making me feel a little woozy but the pain is slowly dying down so π€πΎI'm on the mend.
In other news, my gurl Saya hosted an amazing class on Insta stories this week. I learned about all the things like angles (!), font, sticker choices and polls/questions. So much fun. And I may have even done a little dancing on there. If you want to check out some of the things, check out my "I Can: Story" highlight over on my profile page. I like the idea of using stories more just in general as I feel like they give me the chance to be my weird, quirky self.
Also! As part of this Tiny Marketing Action class I'm doing, one idea was to create a Spotify playlist for my peeps. So I've been building one here! Feel free to listen and follow. And hit reply and let me know any songs you would add! I low-key love that this counts as marketing! If you are interested in the class, you can totally still register here (and it's pay what you can).
Off to rest up and re-watch season 1 of Dead to Me (season 2 is out as of yesterday!).
On to the picks!
P.S. National Treasure TV series is in the works. Not that I'm excited or anything. π΅

πΊ Watching: 24. My gurl Deena is watching this so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm only 3 episodes in but OMG intense. So much happens in an hour!
π§ Listening: You Are the Champions. Love this version with Adam Lambert & Queen.
π Reading: Chosen Ones. About 30% into this new Veronica Roth book written for an adult audience (she wrote the Divergent series). Quick description: "They were the Chosen Ones. Saving the world made them heroes. Saving it again might destroy them." π±
πΉ Tool: Loom. I use the browser extension to make quick how-to videos (of my screen and/or with me in it) and then shoot the person a link. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
#sponsor: rakuten
Since most of us are doing our shopping online right now, Rakuten is a great extension to have in your browser. It used to be called EBates! I am even getting a little cash back from using H&R Block to file my taxes. If you join with my link and spend $30, we will both get $30 cash back! ππΎ

A Journaling Exercise For When Everything Feels Uncertain β advice.shinetext.com
Some days I'm good, but others I feel tight in my chest and my worrying and anxiety takes over. This is a great exercise to start writing things down and really getting clear on questions you can't answer right now. And learn how to "tolerate the uncertainty" as Haley says.
How to Write When β¦ You Keep Getting Interrupted β www.aliventures.com
Ali highlights some tips to avoid interruptions in our new #WFHlife normal like writing early in the morning or late at night (#2) and setting times for your writing (#4).
She also covers how to keep writing even when you are interrupted. I really like her suggestion of setting super short timers for your writing like 5 or 10 minutes and getting used to working in those little bursts. π
