"Do one thing every day that scares you." ~Eleanor Roosevelt
This week has been focused on gearing up for our next WiSTEM cohort. We finished interviewing and made the selections just in time for the kick off next week. Stay tuned for more details on that.
In other news, I'm feeling overwhelmed and my body is physically reminding me again with another sinus infection. 😷 Antibiotics and multi-vitamins to the rescue! The plan is to get focused, figure out my buckets and start saying no to things that don't serve those areas. Easier said than done I'm sure. Right now, I'm brainstorming those buckets right now. I know one of them is my business and really getting it to a point where it's more streamlined and making some type of consistent income even if it's $200 a month. Also, one of those buckets is speaking and creating a strategy around that, including speaking topics. May have to dust off Essentialism to help figure out some of the others. #thestruggleisreal
Speaking of consistent income, I've been reading about other ways to make money on the side. User testing is something I'm exploring. There are founders and companies who want to make sure their website is working properly, has a good experience, that things make sense. So as a way to confirm and get feedback, they pay to have users complete a series of tasks on their site while recording their screen and verbally expressing how things are going, what doesn't make sense, what might not be working properly and all that good jazz. So I'm excited about this new possible income stream.
In other news, I'm using some content from the Get Your Biz On teleseminar I did a couple years ago and creating a workshop on Making the Side Hustle Leap which I'll be giving for the first time at the Fear Paradox Summit in Chicago. This is a 2-day event hosted by my friends Nicole Yeary and Jessica Zweig that is all about helping you identify your biggest fear, figuring out how to turn into fuel as a way to move through it and conquering your biggest obstacles. Can't wait!
I'm off to rest a bit today and celebrate my sister's birthday tomorrow with ice cream 🍨.
It's Julyyyyyyy...which means a lot of folks (myself included) are reflecting on the goals we set earlier this year, how they may have changed, and what to focus on for the rest of the year. How are you doing on YOUR goals? And how can I help you in the next 6 months? Hit reply and let me know.
On to the picks for the week!
P.S. Dip your pinky toe out of your comfort zone this week and try something new. You may be pleasantly surprised. (I tried scallops for the first time on Thursday and they were delish 😋)
