This week we have been busy, busy at work interviewing for WiSTEM C6!! So definitely expect an announcement for the next cohort soon. 🙌🏾
As part of one of our interviews, it became clear to me that startups need side hustles too. And I remember that even some of our cohort members are often looking for extra ways to make money, especially in the early stages as they are ramping up their companies. So I was inspired to write a blog post highlighting my favorite side hustles for startups, which is the first pick below. These ideas can also work for those of us who are full-time 9-to-5ers as well.
I had a wonderful conversation with my friend Kelly Page yesterday. She always uplifts me and I've learned especially from articles like this that even those of us who uplift others sometimes needs uplifting ourselves. We talked about how we need to keep ourselves top of mind, to make sure that wellness is high on our list and to reach out when we need that girl time.
I spent the rest of the day with my sister and nephew and I walked away feeling so much lighter. My nephew can crawl all over the house and he's pulling up on everything trying to stand and walk. It's so fascinating to see him press his hand against walls and doors to see if they can hold him up (or not) and how he tries something even if it's a bit unsteady. You can learn so much from being around kids - they live in the moment and they are happy simply playing with your glasses or trying to eat your iPhone. 😊
As we are about to celebrate Thanksgiving in the States next week, I just want to share my gratitude for you dear reader. Thank you for being here. Thank you for your support and tweets and Facebook posts and thumbs up. Thank you for being a part of my tribe. xoxo
On to the picks for the week!
P.S. The Side Hustle Survey is closed! I'll post the winner of the gift card along with some insights from the answers in the next issue!
