“I’m taking it step by step, bit by bit, stone by stone.” 🐢~Annie Lennox
grateful for progress and baby steps(#396)
As we head into Thanksgiving weekend, I’ve been reflecting on progress and gratitude - two things that have been top of mind for me lately.
Healing, like so many things in life, isn’t linear. This week, my doctor cleared me for “normal activities,” but there’s an important asterisk: I need to build my strength gradually. (Do I embody the baby steps life or what?)
It’s a balance of:
Celebrating progress: I can walk without the boot!
Being patient: But knowing not to overdo it.
Trusting the process: Strength and endurance will come in time.
Listening to my body: Resting when I need to.
This Thanksgiving, I’m incredibly grateful for:
Each small step forward.
The ability to adapt when life throws a plot twist.
The unwavering support of my squad (that’s you!)
Lessons in patience and persistence.
Sometimes, the best progress happens when we honor where we are while gently pushing toward where we want to be.
Now, I’d love to hear from you: What are you grateful for in your journey this week? Reply and let me know - I’d love to celebrate your wins with you!
As always, keep taking those baby steps forward. 🌱
On to the picks!

5 Tools Creators Can Use To Show Up Even On The Hard Days
It can be hard to show up consistently (even for me). And some days, it just makes sense to take a break.
There are hard days, days where I have no energy, days when life (& work) gets in the way. So I assembled a few tricks to help me show up even on the shitty days.
I like Ev’s suggestion of preparing for those inevitable hard days. I especially love her idea of “working overtime on your good days.” (I’m starting to pay a lot more attention to my energy and trying to get as much done as possible when my energy is high.
Is there an idea here you can use on your hard days?
