“Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.” ~Walt Disney
Go shorty, it's my birthday. I'm gonna party like it's my birthday. I'm gonna sip mimosas like it's my birthday. Today I turn 37!!!
A lot has happened in the past couple of weeks:
Left one job and immediately started a new one
Went to Phoenix to deliver a side hustle workshop to 30+ women which was amazingggg (and I saw the Grand Canyon).
Celebrated my 7-year techbizgurl.com blogiversary
Highlighted as part of Crown Talk Collective's Working Women Spotlight on Instagram. I provide two pieces of advice for women who are thinking of becoming entrepreneurs.
And now I am a year older!
That's a lot of awesomeness in one month. Which just gives me another reason to love April. It's spring, a time for change and renewal and fresh perspectives.
So I'm going into my 37th year feeling grateful about so many things:
I'm still alive and in good health.
I have an incredible group of family and friends (my #jesstribe is strong)
I just started an amazing job with the potential to empower over 100 people this year to pursue work they love.
I'm getting things created for the business and feel really good about side hustlers as my target market.
Most of all, I am grateful for you. Thank you for being here with me every week reading, sharing and cheering me on. 💜
I'm off to celebrate mine and my little cousin's birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's 🍕and then brunching with my girls tomorrow 🥂.
Life is good.
On to the picks for the week!
P.S. Did you check out the Side Hustle Toolkit yet? It's FREE. I would love to know if you found it helpful!

Love this article - may need to re-read it once a week. Nicole talks about how she established these 5 themes in her life which were her priorities. If something did not further one of those things, she said no to them and didn't feel guilty about it.
