"Honestly I wanna see you be brave…" ~Sara Bareilles
This week has been a blur. I feel like most of it was getting ready for my trip to Mississippi and stressing over my slides. And then being in Mississippi.
In a nutshell, my trip was incredible. As nervous as I was about my speech, it went really well. The two ladies that were a big part of planning the conference truly made me feel like a VIP. I even got a parking space! The audience was inspired and I felt and still feel the impact of being in that room.
I’m off to sleep and recover for now (after a very delayed flight back to Chicago), but I wanted to leave you with some thoughts from my keynote:
BASK in Your Brilliance
Be Brave: Clarity comes from action. Even if they are baby steps. Do that thing you've been dreaming about.
Be Aware: Self-doubt and impostor syndrome is real. Be aware of when you are feeling that way. And think about your track record and your accomplishments thus far.
Be Seen: It is so important for others to see people that look like them. You never know who you may be inspiring or opening doors just by showing up.
Be Known: Build and nurture those relationships. You never know where your next opportunity may come from.
On to the picks for the week!
P.S. You are brilliant
