"I am my own experiment. I am my own work of art." π©πΎβπ¨ ~Madonna
At our Tuesday #FearExperiment rehearsal, our choreographer Ryan told us that we had 3 rehearsals left. I was honestly good, until that moment. And then cue all the major freakout moments. 3 REHEARSALS LEFT π± which means this show is coming soon! In 2 weeks to be exact!
I'll just be over here hyperventilating, putting together outfits and practicing up a storm over the next week. #allthefeels. If you are in Chicago and free on March 21st, I would love to see you face in the crowd. You can get tix here.
In other news, I was on a podcast with my gurl Taylor and we talked about my best tips for side hustlers, why it does not have to become a full time hustle, and what I've learned, and how I've grown recently. It was a great time! Take a listen to that here.
I am doing a ton of reflection and thinking about how I want my biz to show up in 2020. No clear answers or direction yet, but I do know that #jesspicks will continue (!!) and possibly even become more of a focus going forward. I'm trying to figure out what that looks like, ways to monetize, and thinking through what a curation-focused brand looks like. In the meantime, I'm researching and experimenting and talking to you (wanna grab a virtual coffee??) and noodling on ideas. I will continue to keep me posted as things get a little clearer. Also if you have any ideas, for me, send 'em on over!
On to the picks!
P.S. If you are looking for inspiration for who to sing "happy birthday" to while washing your hands, this may help.

π¨ SaneBox - I think I may have achieved Inbox Zero with this tool. π± What I love about it is that I only really get the emails in my inbox that I need to worry about immediately. Newsletters get sorted into their own bucket so I can just review those when I have a break which is awesome. And there are a bunch of other customizations I can make too. #yayproductivity I am on the free trial now but will subscribe once that's over. If you want to give it a try as well, here's $25 for you to use.
π» Haunting of Hill House - So I was chatting with my dance crew about this show and I finally took the plunge. It's sooo good. And yes I have to watch it in the daytime because I'm a big scaredy cat but I love it so far. 6 episodes in! Can't wait to watch the rest.

I especially love #2 - where you answer every question you've seen, read or heard about for your topic. And just create a bunch of Q&A posts. This will help you for SEO purposes but also give you some content to have on hand if, like me, you sometimes struggle with what to write about.

On saying no ππΎ βEven if youβre thinking it might be something cool to do, always say to people βthat sounds interesting, let me get back to you.β Because then you can give yourself pause to really consider if you really have time, do you really have the energy, do you really understand the fullness of what theyβre asking you because sometimes things can be a lot more time-intensive than people originally let on. So start from that place.β
