#jesspicks - Issue #12 - Instagram, Oprah & Me-Time
This week, I became a Woo Boss! I'm a part of Shenee's Woo Boss Collective - all about helping entrepreneurs who sell intangibles (think teachers, consultants, coaches to name a few). As part of that, I've been doing the #wooboss challenge on Insta - sharing my workspace, the beauty around me and selfies among other things. So much fun.
Also fun? Our Momentum Awards Dinner! We had big announcements and a crowd of over 800 celebrating tech and entrepreneurship in Chicago.
In other news, I've been struggling with overwhelm and figuring out a way to get better organized so I can be more productive. I'm experimenting with Workflowy because one of my friends says he loves it for to-dos and notes. So far, I am liking it but I'll keep you posted.
Also had coffee this week with someone who told me to "schedule your priorities, don't prioritize your schedule". She picks the top 3 things she has to get done every day and schedules them in her calendar. And even when thinking about the week and the month, she chooses 3 things. So this week, I'm gonna try that concept here with 3 picks instead of 5 and see how it goes.
Hit reply and tell me one thing that made you smile this week!
P.S. If you are a Stitchers fan, they just got renewed for season 3!! This made me smile. :) Best. News. Ever. If you haven't watched it, you really should. (Like really) #teamcamsten

5 Productivity Hacks to Get Your 'Me-Time' Back — advice.shinetext.com
I think a big part of me getting organized and feeling less overwhelmed involves more "Me-Time. Like I know that if I don't have my quiet time in the morning to eat my cereal and drink my coffee, I feel completely off-balance. So my favorites in this post are #4 and #5.
12 business lessons from Oprah Winfrey — mashable.com
There are great lessons in here and Oprah is amazing. So everything in here is amazing but #8 is my favorite and really speaks to me right now.
"The way you step up your game is not to worry about the other guy in any situation, because you can't control the other guy. You only have control over yourself. So it's like running a race. The energy that it takes to look back and see where the other guys are takes energy away from you. And if they're too close, it scares you. So, that's what I would say to my team all the time: Don't waste your time in the race looking back to see where the other guy is or what the other guy is doing."
