#jesspicks - Issue #7
This week I did a Biz Therapy session with Liz who gave me a great suggestion to help with my allergy/sinus woes: acupuncture. So I'm definitely looking into that as an option. I thought it was so incredible that she wanted to help me out. :) The other thing I loved about this session is that it made me feel so good to give her direction with her business and help her get to her next step. Which made me think, "how do I get more of that?" That feeling.
That call or email where you tell me what's going on, then we brainstorm and I give suggestions and direction and help. And I get you unstuck. What does something that look like? Keeping that in my mind as I continue to plan the next phase of my business.
I also spent two evenings this week catching up and hanging out with girlfriends. That just does so much good for my soul. Especially with the recent death of a friend who I hadn't really talked to in a while. It just reminds you that tomorrow is not promised and you should spend time with your loved ones. The work will always be there. The stress will always be there. And really will it all matter in a year or five? Maybe not really.
It can be hard in the day-to-day of things to remember that because everything feels big in a moment. I definitely get it for sure. But let this note be a reminder to hug your loved ones and go out dancing. Start writing that book that you've been thinking about for the past year. Get that website off the ground so you can start selling your crocheted goods. Get busy living and have a wonderful weekend!
On to the picks for the week!
P.S. You matter. xoxo

37 Blogging Tips + Business Tricks I've Learned In 37 Years — www.yesandyes.org
Sarah is one of my favorite bloggers so it is really cool to see her list. I especially love what she says about how you need to eat real meals, how you can be your business's why, and how she spends 20 minutes a day updating old blog posts. Whatttt! Definitely going to re-read these and implement some tips on techbizgurl.com going forward.
Apple Notes is the most innovative thing Apple did in the last two years — 15minutes.inthemorni.ng
I have to agree with Matt on this one. Especially now that I'm pretty much an all-Apple shop (iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air), I find myself using Notes for everything. I use it to make to-do lists, checklists, and for brainstorming. And it syncs across all of my devices automagically so I can start something on my phone and pick it back up on my Macbook without missing a beat. Been using this tool more and more and Evernote less and less.

How a random $112.62 in my bank account has guaranteed my NYT Best Seller — macncheeseproductions.com
I love Saya's post about how making affiliate income from someone else's books re-energized and re-inspired her passion for writing and selling her own book.

15 Inspirational Rap Songs To Start Your Day — www.pickthebrain.com
I'm not a HUGE fan of rap because it can get super explicit at times but sometimes you just need the head-bopping beat. And you can probably find clean versions of these too. My faves on this list are: 1, 7, 13 and 14. "All I do is win, win, win no matter what." Definitely makes me want to attack the day! :)
5 Podcasts To Help You Advance Your Career — thewell.jopwell.com
I stumbled on this article while I was on Twitter and plan to sign up for all of these. One or more of these could be just waht you need to listen to on your drive home or your commute to work to jumpstart your next chapter - whether that's going for a promotion at your job, changing careers, or starting a blog.
