"Keep looking where the light pours in." ☀️~Morgan Harper Nichols
HAPPY FEBRUARY! I, for one, am glad January is over. I feel like it legit lasted three years. 🤦🏾♀️
This week especially has been tough as Kobe Bryant’s death hit us all in a way. I feel like it united the world in grief and sadness. And also shook us.
For me personally, I have not really been a Kobe fangirl. But I’m not really a sports fangirl anyway. Most of my friends know sports metaphors are totally lost on me. But his death affected me, just the same. I think it’s because it was so unexpected, his daughter was with him. And he is such a larger than life presence in the world. And a friend of mine mentioned, it’s hitting some of us especially hard because in a way we all grew up together. So he has been a constant in our lives for years.
And now he is gone. His daughter is gone. 7 others are gone. So unexpectedly. And we are reminded of our own mortality. And that we may not have the time on this earth that we think we do.
I re-shared an image on Facebook this week that says "At the end of our life, we will ask ourselves three questions, "Did I live? Did I love? Did I matter?" My cousin suggested that we ask those questions now of ourselves now:
Do I live? Do I love? Do I matter?
And if the answer is no, that's okay. What can you start doing today to change that? What baby step can you take so that if the unexpected does happen, you can die knowing you did everything you could. You can choose to die empty.
While my overall topsy turvyness from the last few weeks is not completely gone, I will say that I feel a bit lighter. I’ve made time for things that make me smile, like legos and reading, dancing and being with friends/family. I’ve made time to dream and scheme about moving my business forward this year. And I have hope that the heaviness will continue to get lighter as I continue to make time for healing.
One of the things that I’ve been brainstorming on is a coaching/mentoring offer for my clients who could use a little help moving forward with their side hustle plans. How would you like to have me as a side hustle mentor of sorts for a day, 1 on 1, to get you unstuck and moving with your side hustle?
If that interests you or if you want the deets of the offer I'm experimenting with, hit reply and let me know. I have 3 spots available.
