Happy December!
It's hard to believe that it's only 25ish days until 2020!! And it's the time of year where folks are thinking through words and themes that they want to implement for the next year, resolutions, and goals. And leaning into the whole idea of 2020 being the best year ever.
I'm no exception. This time of year I normally go super reflective thinking back through everything, trying to make peace with the things that were not so good, and celebrating the things that were. But I've never really had a formal process for it. Until my friend Shenee told me about this awesome Annual Clarity Retreat that is being hosted in a FB group. It's free and will run the month of December with a video and worksheet per week. There's still time to join us!
I've already started working through some of the initial questions, thinking through what worked, what didn't work, unexpected blessings and peak experiences. A few things that stood out:
Participating in Fear Experiment. ππ½ Learning dance routines with strangers over 10 weeks and performing on stage was a huge highlight, blessing and experience of 2019.
While I wasn't able to meet my blogging goals this year, I did stay consistent with this newsletter. I really feel like there is something special with #jesspicks and I want to lean even more into this in 2020. Not sure what that looks like just yet though.
There has been a lot of growth in a lot of ways but especially on the work front. For a long time, I've been doing the full-time role + side hustle dance. And this year I was able to try out a few different combinations of part-time, contract and side hustle work.
When you think about your 2019, what is one thing that stands out?

ππΎββοΈBrittany Runs A Marathon: I adore this heartwarming story about a woman who pushes past her comfort zone. She is definitely someone you root her and your eyes may even sweat a little while you watch it. Mine did. π
π§Spotify Wrapped: I am always excited when this is available. You'll get a wrap up of your musical data for the year (and the decade in this case) including top artists, genre, number of minutes listened and so much more. My number one artist? For the year: Alessia Cara. For the decade: Glee Cast.
