"People inspire you, or they drain you - pick them wisely." ~Hans F Hanson
This week has been super productive. I've been working on refreshing my website behind the scenes. I also played with Canva a bit. It's a great option for creating graphics for your site, blog and social media. I also learned that design is definitely not my zone of genius. I feel like it takes me 2 hours to do something others can get done in 10 minutes. 😂
So the quote for this week is appropriate because people can definitely drain you, but tasks can too. On the flip side, what are the tasks that fill you up, where you forget time, where you feel in your flow? Those are the things that we need to embrace and make sure that they are a part of our lives.
In other news, I participated as a virtual panelist in a Twitter chat this week about women in leadership. It was such a fun hour where we all shared things we've learned along our leadership journey and lessons for others. Check out some of the thoughts on #iLeadCUL.
What I’m loving right now:
Chill Chicago. There is this cool spot in River North Chicago that is all about making mindfulness more accessible. You can go in, relax, get a massage or take a meditation class. Yesterday I was feeling the need for some self-care and went to get a 20-minute chair massage.
What I’m working on:
Getting a logo designed for #jesspicks! 👏🏾 It's been a long time coming so I'm super excited about it. Fingers crossed that you see it next week. 🤞🏾 Also the Side Hustle Starter Kit. I'm rounding up 10 of my favorite time management tips, tech tools and self-care resources and creating a little guide for side hustlers.
On to the picks for the week!
