What’s one thing you’d like to accomplish in May and June? ✍🏾 (#325)
Recently at work, my boss asked me:
If you could accomplish 3 things in May/June, what would those things be and why?
We then used answers to those questions across all of our teams to put together our company priorities for the next two months.
I thought doing something similar for my life and business would be cool. Granted, these are not goals per se, but where I want to focus for May/June:
🔋. Daily (or at least consistent) check-ins on my capacity
I’m dealing with some significant caregiver fatigue. And it’s been hard in recent weeks for me to recover to my full capacity, so I need to keep that in mind when I think about what I can actually get done in a day. And give myself alllll the grace. One thing I’m trying to get better at, especially as a new manager, is focusing on what tasks only I can do, versus delegating.
🤑. Income streams
I’m thinking through all the ways I currently make money and figuring out a plan for what makes sense moving forward. I would love to work less, create more ease, and have more surprise “you made money while sleeping” notifications.
🥳. Self-care/joy
It is slowly starting to warm up here in Chicago. (I’m whispering that so the weather doesn’t change its mind 🫣). On Thursday, I was able to grab coffee with a friend and sit outside to catch up. It was so nice. And I thought to myself, “Why don’t I do this more often?” Definitely will find opportunities for comfort food, fun cocktails, time with friends, puzzles, and more.
How about you? What’s one thing you’d like to accomplish in May and June? (Maybe I can help! 😉)

📺. Watching: The Ark. There are a lot of space shows, and I have to say this one is my favorite. Earth is dying, so spaceships are sent ahead (call arks) where folks are supposed to inhabit a new planet. Each episode has a crisis of some sort, from being woken up out of cryosleep to not having water/food to dealing with an unknown enemy. Folks have to step up in roles they weren’t supposed to have. Great watch so far!
🤑. Learning: Sacred Money Archetypes. Denise Duffield-Thomas has a free quiz (and related business training series) that will match you with your money archetype. You can use this information to help you leverage your strengths and build a business that works for you. I’m learning so much about myself as a Nurturer (“The Compassionate Caretaker: Kind, generous people-pleaser.”), where I may need to create boundaries in my business, the types of offers I can make, and much more. Would love to know what your archetype is.

To the untrained observer, my morning beverage may look like bean water in a cup, but to me, it’s actually something more profound. It’s a tiny anchor, lending a bit of certainty and familiarity to uncertain days. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference.
I totally agree with coffee. I think music and reading also serve as two more of my tiny anchors.
Do you have tiny anchors in your day?

5 Myths & Misconceptions About Side Hustles
There is not just one way to be an entrepreneur. Each person’s situation is different, so part of the process is figuring out what works best for you.
In my work with side hustlers and being a side hustler myself, I come across many myths. #1 is that side hustles are meant to become full-time businesses. Nope. Not necessarily.
Some of us love our day jobs (and frankly appreciate having benefits) and are happy to keep our side thing a side thing.
