“Decide the type of person you want to be. Prove it to yourself with small wins.” 🌱 ~James Clear
keep your side hustle small (+ free challenge!) (#401)
A couple of months ago, I sat down with my business coach, Josh Spector, on his Clients from Content podcast. It was one of those conversations packed with gems, leaving me with so much to reflect on as I think through the next steps for my business.
One question Josh asked has stuck with me:
Why has side hustling been one of the most fulfilling things you’ve done?
My answer went way beyond the extra income (though let’s be honest, we like money!). Because side hustles can offer something much deeper:
A creative outlet that’s completely yours - where you call the shots and get a chance to experiment.
Confidence from building something outside your 9-5 - proving to yourself that you’re more than your job title (this saved me when I was laid off and had to deal with the dreaded “f” word).
Personal growth that sneaks up on you - suddenly you’re wearing all these hats, doing things you never imagined, and rocking at it.
Incredible connections - meeting fellow side hustlers and entrepreneurs who understand your challenges (and celebrate your wins!)
The freedom of generating income on your own terms - a game-changer in today’s unpredictable world.
But here’s the biggest “aha moment” from that conversation:
My superpower isn’t just helping people start side hustles – it’s giving them permission to keep them as side hustles.
Let that sink in for a sec.
Most advice out there pushes the idea of escaping your 9-5 or turning your side gig into a full-time business. And while that’s great for some, it’s not for everyone.
Some of us genuinely love our day jobs. 🙋🏾♀️ We’re good at them. They provide stability, benefits, and yes, even fulfillment.
What we want is a side hustle that brings creativity, joy, and extra income - without the pressure to turn it into our main thing.
We want both.
We want the “yes, and….”
And that’s okay.
Which also got me thinking:
What if we stopped waiting for “enough time” and started making magic in the small pockets we already have?
What if we embraced the power of just 15 minutes?
As someone juggling caregiving, a full-time job, and a business, I’ve been quietly testing this Idea for years. Tiny pockets of time add up.
So…. I’m pretty thrilled to invite you to an experiment we can do together:
» Join me for the FREE 15-Minute Side Hustler Challenge, running February 3-7th!

📺. Watching: The Night Agent.
This is a Netflix original show me and my friend Shenee are OBSESSED with. Every episode jam-packed with action. Government conspiracies and the whole shebang. Cliffhangers galore. We trust no one but Peter and Rose. Season 2 is out - are you watching?
