to quit or not to quit, that is the question... (#364)
I’m gonna be honest - some weeks, I ask myself if I should quit my side hustle. (And honestly, if you don’t think about quitting every once in a while, are you even really an entrepreneur? 😉)
But juggling feels so much harder now. Probably because caregiving is as well. And most days, I’m operating at a limited capacity. Some days, I follow that thread and think, “Well, if I quit the biz…
I’d have one less thing to juggle
I’d probably work less
I’d probably save some $$
A few things would probably be easier
But to consider the pros to quitting, you also have to consider the cons, which makes me question what my life would be like if I didn’t have the business. Sure, it’s a side hustle, so it makes me some money. But it’s so much more than that:
I love learning and sharing and growing and experimenting.
I love helping connect people to other people and resources. I often say, “I’ve got a resource for that.” or “Have you heard about XYZ?”
I love inspiring folks to take action and move forward.
And most of all, I love it when someone comes to me and says, “You helped me” or “I did this because of your article or your advice.”
#jesspicks. Tech Biz Gurl. It’s such a huge part of my identity now that I don’t see a future without it.
And if I had any other doubts, I recently did a reader survey and asked folks what they love most about #jesspicks. Here are some of the responses:

📺. Watching: Wonka. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is one of my fave movies. Every time I see it on TV, I watch it because it has such wonderful themes. So, of course, I had to see the prequel, right? Fair warning: it is a musical, but they were well-timed and awesome. Watching it was a delightful experience, and I caught myself smiling many times. Highly recommend. 🍫✨
📆. Tool: TidyCal. I have been using Calendly for years to schedule appointments, but as I am looking to simplify some things, I realized I am paying $16/month for not much action there. So I decided to take the plunge into Tidycal. It has the same functionality as Calendly, and you can pay $29 for a lifetime. I love a good lifetime plan because monthly payments can add up. Two of my other fave tools I purchased lifetime access to are Curious Karen for surveys and MissingLettr for automagically creating social media campaigns from blog post content.

8 Expert Tips On Managing A Side Hustle From Those Who Do It
It’s always great to see folks who are working a 9-5 and also making time to work on passion projects that bring them fulfillment and $$$.
These nuggets spoke to me:
“I remind myself that all the seemingly small steps I make each day are adding up to a bigger picture.” (baby steps!!)
“If my body asks for rest, sometimes I’ll take a midday nap. Knowing when to stop and rest, and when to push through is important.”
“Offer services, experiences, products, packages that are aligned with the way you love to work.”

Okay, I can't believe how timely this is, Jessica! I was literally standing here thinking what am I gonna do about Calendly?! It's not in the budget right now and to your point, it feels like my ROI would be minimal. Eek! TidyCal here I come!! Thank you so much for sharing. I no longer subscribe to AppSumo so I would have missed this! I love AppSumo deals but their emails can be overwhelming.
