Can I help you find your side hustle idea? (#315)
After last weekโs caregiving challenges and overwhelm, I did my best to prioritize self-care over the last week:
Self-care has become so much of a buzzword lately, but I think itโs about doing those things that make you feel more like you. The things that help you recharge. And recover from the hard days.
Other things that have helped:
I went to the chiropractor, did some physical therapy with a focus on mobility exercises, and had a massage
I worked with a flexologist for some assisted stretching, especially for my upper body, where I hold most of my stress.
I scheduled some time off from work next week to focus on a few business tasks and see the new Antman movie.
What are some ways you practice self-care?
In other news, being in this space, I know many folks struggle with finding their side hustle idea. And then, sometimes, we may know what we want to do, but weโre not sure where to start.
When working with clients on this, I realize that I often ask them specific questions and approach this process in a particular way, so Iโve started compiling these steps into a doc/workbook.
ยป Click here to open up the doc where I am typing things up.
Iโm a little nervous about sharing this, but baby steps, right? Sometimes we have to ship things to get them out there and then tweak from there, which is what I teach my clients.
It will only take a few minutes to review and may inspire you if you are stuck on finding your side hustle idea or figuring out how to kick things off.
If you have any questions about the process, please add a comment to the doc. Iโll happily respond to you.
On to the picks!

๐บ. Watching: Not Dead Yet. Gina Rodriguez has a new show on ABC. Girl meets boy. Girl leaves her journalist job to chase after a guy. Girl returns after five years, expecting to pick up where she left off. Girl ends up writing obituaries because when you leave and come back, you have to start somewhere. Plot twist: each person she writes about is a ghost that essentially haunts her until she writes their story, giving her little life lesson tidbits along the way. The other theme that resonates throughout the episodes is embracing where you are in life right now.
๐ง. Resource: Email Marketing Membership (EMM).ย Liz Wilcoxโs $9/month membership includes weekly newsletter templates to help you get clicks, and replies, build relationships and make sales. One of her templates inspired part of this issueโs intro note.

Entrepreneur: Cheryl Bennett
Biz: Just Swim Consulting
A few tidbits:
Cheryl started her career as a computer programmer, and once she moved into a leadership role, she had to figure out how to lead on her own. Her business was created to help new managers โswimโ so they donโt feel overwhelmed in their new positions.
She was able to reduce the hours at her corporate job to 4 days a week so that she could have extra time to work on her business and her schoolwork.
Her advice for getting started: โDonโt wait for everything to be perfectโฆ.perfection is impossible anywayโฆ.so jump in at โgood enoughโ and learn as you go.โ

79 Tasks for My Virtual Assistants: Real World Examples
I use virtual assistants every single day to run my life and my business. They help me with scheduling, emails, documents, book promotion, and a ton more.
It can be hard to figure out if you need a VA and what types of things you can have them do for you. Love this article by Nick Gray that gives you ideas on tasks you can delegate to your VA and how to hire them. I hired a virtual assistant through this service last year (hi Alice!). She has been fantastic at graphic design and scheduling social media posts.
