"The middle is messy but it's also where the magic happens." ✨~Brene Brown
Over the next few days we will say goodbye and lay my great uncle to rest. I take comfort in the fact that he is at peace and that his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family.
This week has involved a lot of wrangling and caregiving so it's been a lot to manage, so I've also had to make it a priority to take care of myself too. For me, that looked like:
Sending an email removing myself from a commitment that I had felt the need to do for awhile. 📩
Going to an impromptu BeMoved dance class and dancing my heart out to some disco tunes. 🕺🏾
Doing a pasta making class with my gurl Christine which was actually pretty cool. I mean, who needs a stress ball when you can just knead dough instead? 🍝
And being super grateful for my squad. 💖
All in all, a week of grace and if I had to pick another word for the year (in addition to Build), it would be that one: Grace. Giving it to others, but most of all, having grace with myself. And talking to myself like I would a friend, because sometimes I catch my self-talk and it's soo negative. There is no way I would talk to a friend that way. So giving myself more grace will be top of mind this year. And that won't change overnight, it'll be a journey like most things. But baby steps.
How can you show yourself grace this week?
On to the picks!

📱 doitfortheenneagram - love this Insta account that's all about Enneagram goodness. What Enneagram type are you? I'm a Type 2. Tip: LT in the City Weekly
👚👖StitchFix - it's so nice to be able to send a note to my stylist and say things like "Can you send me a pair or two of black jeans and a vest?" And then they send that. It makes shopping for clothes so easy. And I love that they send me things I'd never buy for myself, but normally it's a great look. Here's $25 if you want to give it a try!
