"The most effective way to do it, is to do it." ~Amelia Earhart
It's June! This week, I've been continuing my version of daily self-care, which for me, means reading at least a chapter of a book during the week. It really helps to center me a little bit and frees my mind from worrying about everything little thing. #overthinkeryisreal
We are gearing up for our fourth WiSTEM showcase at the day job. This is an event where the 14 women-owned companies from our current cohort will pitch their businesses in front of the community. If you're in Chicago and free on June 13th, would love to see you there. Deets here.
Also, thanks to one of my friends, I kicked off the #burpeechallenge on June 1st. It's a 30-day challenge. You do one burpee on the 1st of the month, two on the 2nd of the month and so on. So I have to do three today. It's a baby step, but at least it's a step in the right direction to add some fitness back into my life. Wish me luck! 😉
Speaking of fitness, tomorrow I'm doing the Color Run, also known as the #happiest5K because they throw color on you as you're running. This is my third year doing it and it's always a fun event to do. Especially when you have company! My mom and sister are joining me again along with some other friends. My knees and shins will scream at me if I actually run, so I power walk it. 😎 Pictures next week!
I also just figured out that I'm speaking on 3 panels this month! Whattttt... 💪🏾 What are you up to this month? Hit reply and let me know.
On to the picks for the week!
P.S. Are you a side hustler? I would LOVE to include you in the Side Hustle Interview series I’m launching this summer. Hit reply and say “Yes to the Jess” if you’re interested in being featured and I’ll send over the interview questions.

What struck me about these is that a lot of the lessons center around mindset, spending less money on products and courses (I'm so there as I've spent too much myself) and focusing on doing one thing really well.
