“The words you speak become the house you live in.” 📣 ~Hafiz
Happy March!
The weather has been pretty amazing in Chicago this past week. Sunny days and temperatures above freezing can make a big difference. ☀️ While it's not officially Spring just yet, I feel hope and optimism in the air.
Anddd some pretty awesome things happened:
🎧 My episode dropped with the We’re Only Human podcast. We talked about A LOT of things, including why I’m not trying to leave my day job, how being laid off ended up being a blessing, Fear Experiment, and #caregiverlife.
🏆 I found out I was nominated for an award celebrating women leaders who show perseverance, resilience, and grit. Keeping my fingers crossed to win! 🤞🏾
👩🏾🏫 I set up my Eventbrite page for the #IamRemarkable workshop I’m hosting later this month. It is a fantastic movement all about helping women and minorities get better at celebrating their accomplishments. Wanna join? Deets here.
I’ve also been participating in this Overcoming Overthinking 5-Day Challenge hosted by Jon Acuff. Jon says that “overthinking is not a personality trait... it’s a sneaky form of fear.” FEAR? Say what now? 🤯 Did your jaw just drop too? Mine sure did.
As part of the challenge, we talked about different areas where negative soundtracks (think repetitive thoughts) can come up: like dealing with change, wanting to improve your health, etc. Jon’s suggestion is to replace those negative soundtracks with positive ones. He even covered ones he had dealt with while running his side hustles. You know I had my paper and pen ready! 📝
Here are a few positive soundtracks that resonated with me (especially the first one) and may do the same for you:
“Win the way you’ve won before.” (Repeat the things that work and quit the things that don’t. Take lessons from your past and apply them to the present.)
“No one is thinking about me. It’s my job to think about them.” (Think about your customers. Remember that it's on you to think about why someone needs what you offer or how to promote it.)
“The client who is a jerk during the ask will be a jerk during the task.” (’nuff said? and I love that it rhymes)
As a card-carrying overthinker, I’m excited about this soundtrack concept and looking forward to reading Jon’s book coming out in April.

🎧Listening: Jon Acuff's OOC Soundtrack (Unofficial): My fellow challenge-mates made a playlist for us overthinkers. And I'm a fan. Check it out if you're looking for some new tunes.
📺 Greatest Showman HIIT Dance Workout: I love dance workouts mainly because it's a great way to move my whole body. I discovered this video this week and was winded less than 5 minutes into this routine (note: the video is 18 minutes! I lasted 10 😂), but it was so much fun. I love how each song has two main moves, so there is no complicated choreography to remember. And Emily provides modifications if you need more low-impact moves.

Stop Wasting Your Creative Time and Energy Producing Social Media Posts for Your Content — bettermarketing.pub
Believe it or not, this post is not saying "don't spend time on social media". Instead, it's saying, "here is a process for planning social media for each piece of content in 15 minutes and using Buffer to help you do it.
"I published a new story this morning. I spent less than 15 minutes (12 minutes 6 seconds, to be exact) sending it out to the world in the form of six scheduled tweets, two Facebook posts, one LinkedIn post, and one Instagram. Here’s exactly how I did it."
Melinda lays out a great plan for getting started with social media for content and then seeing what works/doesn't work for your own process.
You’ve Already Found Your Life’s Purpose — forge.medium.com
Ummm, I love this:
"You already know more about your purpose than you realize. And that’s because your purpose is simply the meaning that you decide to attach to each day."
Tim also reminds us to focus on our lifestyles instead. I feel like a weight has been lifted all my shoulders. Anyone else?
