There is a lot of pressure out there to entrepreneur and get things done in a certain way:
“Your morning routine should include a cold shower.”
“When are you taking your side hustle full-time?”
“Deep work is the only way to get things done.”
“You can’t watch Netflix and run a business.”
These are all things I’ve read or heard over the years. But here’s the thing:
Businesses, side hustles, newsletters, and passion projects come in all shapes and sizes. You get to decide how you show up.
You can keep your morning routine loose or not have a routine at all. Maybe it’s about an evening routine for you.
You can choose to keep your side hustle a side hustle.
You can take baby steps.
You can make the most of 15 minutes pockets of time.
You can watch Netflix and still get stuff done.
You can see what others have done and try things.
You can steal what works and leave what doesn’t.
You can learn and grow and get clarity.
You can do all of these things. Or none of these things.
It’s up to you.

#ease 🫶🏾
In this section, I plan to provide things/tips/resources that are helping me with caregiving, biz, self-care, and juggling in general. In the hopes that it’ll inspire you as well.
This week’s ease tip is courtesy of
:“During the week, I create a “Friday punch list” of non-urgent tasks that won’t take much time each, but do need to get done. This is generally stuff like scheduling interviews that won’t happen for several weeks, signing kids up for activities or camps, paying bills, making hotel reservations or buying plane tickets, doing an email triage where I respond to non-urgent messages, etc.
When a task comes up or occurs to me, I put it on the list. Then, on Friday, I take some time to plow through all of them. If you, like me, enjoy crossing things off a list, I can attest that it is enormously satisfying to cross off a dozen things in short order!”
I really do love this idea of having a list of tasks you can keep adding to throughout the week and knock them all out on Friday. Read her full post here.
Josh Spector does something similar with his recurring tasks, and he calls it a “Monthly Day.”

🎧. Listening: My Life Philosophy: How I Live a Keyless Life. This is a favorite episode from Denise Duffield-Thomas. She talks about how she created ease in her life, starting with getting rid of keys, but also how she has automated and created systems for other things, including her business. (Relatedly, I am building a list of helpful podcast episodes in a playlist here).
📓. Tool: Readwise. I love getting these daily emails that resurface quotes from books I’ve read over the years. If you often highlight books and articles, you will love it too! Sometimes they are exactly what I need to read at that time. Others are a reminder of how much I’ve grown.

Maybe we should write more listicles?
Brian encourages us to write lists when we are facing a deadline or can’t create content. I kinda took that approach with this week’s intro. 😉 What do you think?
