Mini-golf, adulting, and other things that made my week better (#332)
The other day I was reading
’s newsletter:She included a list of things that made her week better, including her coaching offer and $1 coffee. ☕️ I can get behind these!
I loved her list so much that I’d like to share a similar one.
Seven Things That Made My Week Better
Taking a half day at work and going mini golfing with my girlfriends. Not to mention just being outside in the sun for a few hours - natural vitamin D amirite?
Kicking off the hiring process at work and scheduling lots of phone screens. (Wanna work with me?) As a newish manager, I’m still learning to focus only on what I can do and delegate the rest.
Saying no to a few events/appointments that I didn’t have the capacity for
Having a session with coach Saya and continuing to prepare to do speaking engagements. Looking for a speaker or facilitator? Hire me.
Kirsten buying me coffee and thanking me for my newsletter every week!
Taking a couple of baby steps toward getting my passport. This has been a task on my to-do list for YEARS. I don’t have any international travel planned yet, but I think getting this done will open up some opportunities. I filled out the application online and scheduled an August appointment at the post office.
Doing adult/self-care type things like doctor/therapy appointments, getting my eyebrows waxed, and disco’ing my heart out in dance class.
What a fun way to reflect on the week and celebrate the good things. And in turn, they all help to make me a better employee, entrepreneur, and human.
What can you celebrate? What is something that made your week better?
On to the picks!

📺. Watching: You’re using Apple Notes wrong. This video covers some features I didn’t even realize existed with Apple Notes, yet I often use it to jot down various ideas. You can create (smart) folders, insert tables in Notes and scan documents. I wonder if it makes sense to invest time in setting this up for my main notes system. Tip: For the Interested newsletter.
💡. Activity: Ideal Day Chatbot. Take a few minutes and answer some questions about what an ideal day looks like for you one year from now. I found this process insightful when I first did it, and I have the answers returned to me every couple of months or so. It is a good reminder of the life that I’m trying to build.

27 Life-Changing Micro Habits That Require Only A Few Minutes
“It may seem strange to do something for 30 seconds or just a few minutes. That’s an oddly achievable goal isn’t it? That’s the point of micro habits. Once you become used to the habits you set, you begin to do them naturally.”
Micro habits are equivalent to baby steps in. my mind. And sometimes, the easiest things to do consistently are those that only tL’Orealew minutes. Here are my faves:
Write for two minutes in the morning as you drink your coffee
Drink a cup of water before having coffee to stay hydrated
Use your shower as a time to practice gratitude
Replace one sweetened drink with a glass of water
Which habit can you add to your life?
