“These things will be hard to do, but you can do hard things.” 💖 ~Glennon Doyle
what hard is worth it? (#363)
I’m sharing some wisdom that is resonating with me right now from Tanya Moushi:
“Everything is hard.
Staying at your job and breaking out on your own.
Being in a relationship and not being in a relationship.
Working out your body and ignoring your body.
Living in the same place and making a move.
Making a healthy meal and walking off that take-out.
Sticking to the plan and changing everything.
But the good news is: you get to choose the hard that’s worth it to you.”
What hard is worth it to you?
On to the picks!

💰. Tool: Oportun. This app is my savings sidekick. It is helping me build up a rainy day fund, and I can set other goals. It analyzes your account and takes $1 here and $2 there, so you don’t miss it and you can save automagically. If you are looking for an easy way to start saving, here is $5 to get started.
🎧. Course: Grow Your Online Business Fan Club. This 90-ish-minute course by Lizzy Goddard is about getting in front of people who don’t know you yet. As I learned, a freebie does not help you grow your audience. 🤯 And it’s true…much of my subscriber growth has come from getting in front of other people’s audiences through guesting on podcasts, word of mouth, and recommendations from other newsletter creators, and being featured in bundles.

10 Ways to Raise Your Productivity Today
There are some common ideas here on raising your productivity, like meditating, exercising, and turning off notifications. What I love about Darius’s approach is his short, manageable timeframes.
Just say to yourself: “I’ll journal for 5 minutes. Just 5 minutes. If I feel like writing more, then I’ll continue. But if not, then as long as 5 minutes is up, I’m done.” Just taking a few minutes to write down what’s on your mind will help you to focus on what actually matters.

I was happily pedaling along on the rail trail when three spandex speedsters blew by me on their handmade carbon bikes.
For a moment, I was disheartened. What’s the point–they’re speedy, I’m not.
Then I realize that it’s not a bike race, it’s a bike ride. There is no winning, just the riding.
Enjoy the journey, trust the process, and try not to worry so much about what other folks are doing, even if they are on the same path.

Jessica, what a great quote to share , as always. I'm a big fan of Glennon Doyle. And you. Thanks for sharing. I'm on the brink of making a huge life change. It's hard, uncertain and scary. But I'm trading this kind of hard for the day to day hard that is no longer sustainable for me. Thanks again for very timely works of encouragement
