"This goes out to the underdog...soon enough, you will rise up." ~Alicia Keys
Happy April loves! I know there is so much going on with everything: the virus, social distancing, trying to get to a new reality of working from home, or finding new sources of income, and just taking care of your mental health. And I can't imagine how you might be feeling.
I'm not even sure I'm feeling - some days are better than others. I try to listen to my mind and my body, work when I need to and rest when I can. And also really just try to focus on the things in my control.
So I want to check in and ask you - how are you doing? How are you feeling? What do you need right now?
I want to help, support, listen, provide resources - anything. Are you feeling sad and discouraged? Do you need to figure out how to use this time? Do you feel stuck on anything? Anything I can promote for you?
Nothing is too big or too small. Just hit reply and let me know.
I may not have all the resources and answers, but I want to do what I can. I truly believe that we'll get through this dark time. Together.
On to the picks!
P.S. As a way to create and hopefully help in some way, I'm posting a side hustle tip every day on my Instagram for the month of April (#30DaysofSideHustle). Come join me.

Underdog - I have had this Alicia Keys song on repeat lately. And she sang it as part of the iHeart Living Room Concert last week which was just amazing.
Fitness Marshall - If you like dance workout type stuff, I 💖this guy. He does workouts to popular songs and has the funniest facial expressions. I'm pretty sweaty after one of his 3-minute videos (lately been doing Lizzo's Truth Hurts). #babysteps

You’re Allowed to Grieve the Year That Would’ve Been — zora.medium.com
Love this so hard --> “You can be grateful for another year of life and upset that you didn’t get to celebrate it how you planned,” she says. “And when you do that, you can give yourself the best gift by honoring your humanity.” Brown echoes this and hopes women take advantage of the moment. “I hope we hear our own voices more clearly and emerge from this in full command of our destinies.”
I found this link in L'Oreal's awesome newsletter.
How to find time for a side hustle when you’re staying at home — www.fastcompany.com
The advice I most love here is starting small and using small pockets of time to get things done. I would add to have grace with yourself if you're not able to get into a good rhythm for this just yet.
18 Daily Affirmations to Help You Overcome Any Work Hurdle — www.careercontessa.com
I especially love this one: "Rest is work, too. It's a job that needs to be done." (#7)
Filling a Suddenly Empty Schedule — www.newyorker.com
Especially if you are now working from home with your partner or your kids (or in my case grandma), you might get a chuckle out of this one.
Found this link in Girls Night In newsletter - and they are donating $1 to World Central Kitchen and Crisis Text Line for every new subscriber they get this month.
