Earlier this week, I went with some girlfriends to an event called International Women’s Night Out. It was at a cool wine bar, and it had all the chill vibes.
The night's theme was empowering yourself and the people around you, and as part of the evening, we spent time reflecting and journaling on a few prompts.
One asked us to share a message of encouragement and hope for future generations. I thought of the things I would want to know 10, 20 years ago, and even now, and here is what I wrote:
Get curious and follow that curiosity. It can lead you to some amazing experiences and people.
Keep going. Even if you’re taking baby steps. Slow moves are still moves.
Learn your strengths and lean into them. Partner up with people who excel at your weaknesses.
Look to others as examples of what you could do. But also know that you can choose what works best for you and your life.
Embrace the things that make you weird. That’s your special sauce. (And the world needs your special sauce).
What message would you share?
On to the picks!

📺. Watching: A Peek Inside The Mind Of A Productivity Expert. This conversation popped back up on my radar this week. It’s a convo between Josh Spector and Khe Hy and they talk about the concept of $10,000 work versus $10 work, work/life harmony, and how Khe has built a business where he can surf every day. What I’m thinking about: what are my $10K tasks? And where should I focus if I only have a couple of hours to work on my biz every week?
🎧. Listening: Side Hustla! I had this playlist on repeat a few times this week - it’s full of upbeat and inspirational songs for us side hustlers and creators. 68 fans so far! 🎉 Any other songs you think I should add?

How to Quit Your Job and Build an Online Business
You know that I am not a fan of quitting your day job before you are ready, if at all. Being ready can mean different things to different people. But if that is something you are interested in doing, ask yourself: “What can I start doing today to get ready to quit my job in the future?”
Can you start your newsletter? Experiment with a new coaching or consulting offer. What baby step can you take next week to get things started?

Great tip from
“In any case, people spend all kinds of time and money trying to make themselves happier and more energetic. A 10-minute walk is almost guaranteed to do that for free, and with basically zero downsides. So if you find yourself stuck and re-reading the same email six times in a row, why not give it a shot? You’ll only “lose” a few minutes. But you might gain the ability to take on the rest of the day.”
I have to say an afternoon walk around the block when I’m feeling sleepy has worked wonders for me!
