"We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand." ~Randy Pausch
This week has been a weird mix. There seems to be a lot of change happening around me which is leaving me feeling very uneasy and stressed. And I'm trying to be aware of it and really recognize that this stuff happens and I just have to really focus on myself and what I can control.
Speaking of things I can control, I've realized this week especially that I have to stop checking my phone first thing in the morning. Checking emails and notifications can really set the wrong tone for the morning before I've really even had a chance to fully wake up. It puts me in reactive mode before I can even set my tone for the day. So will need to keep that in mind in the future. #babysteps
In other news, I was able to submit my speaker information for the upcoming conference in April (also my birthday month! 😎). Traveling is always fun and I've never been to Arizona before so I'm getting so excited and I just can't hide it.
Also WiSTEM was mentioned in Forbes!! It's incredible to see that kind of recognition and support for a program you run. It's a testament to the impact we are making in the world which just is something that truly makes me smile at the end of the day.
And I think that's what is important to remember. Make sure to take care of yourself and be kind to yourself. Even when the craziness is swirling around you. xoxo
I'm off to see Proud Mary this weekend with my family. Taraji for the win! What are you up to?
