“What you do is less important than the difference you make.” 🤹🏾♀️~Tiffany Dufu
Earlier this week, I was chatting with my VA (I still think this is the most incredible thing ever!), and she asked me how I balance all the things? Side hustling, working, caregiving, self-caring, and living life.
My answer: Tequila. 😇
My second answer: I like to think of it as less about balance and more about understanding that certain things will take priority some days. Some days, I may have to focus on work, while others need to give my business more time. If grandma is not doing well, she has to be my focus. And then, on other days, I have nothing to give anyone until I rest or go dancing or maybe have that tequila shot I mentioned earlier.
This week, in particular, because of my shoulder issues, I’ve had to prioritize taking more breaks and asking for help. I have ordered more groceries versus trying to do so much lifting. I’ve asked a colleague to help get something done while at the chiropractor. Accept that ultimately the work will get done; it just might not get done that day. I have a post-it on my wall that I sometimes repeat to myself and my clients:
“Tomorrow is another day.”
Our priorities will shift and change from day to day, sometimes even within the same day. And that’s OK. Everything will get done in its time.
The juggle is real. Identify the balls you are trying to keep in the air at any given moment, and if it gets too much, permit yourself to let one or more drop. You can always pick them up tomorrow.
On to the picks!

📚. Reading: Pause, Rest, Be: Stillness Practices for Courage in Times of Change. This book was not even on my radar until I read about it in my friend L’Oreal’s latest newsletter. And I already love the quotes I’m reading on Instagram, and it seems so fitting for the times we are in right now. So it’s definitely on my wishlist to buy next.
🎧. Listening: Side Hustla! Need a playlist while you juggle your day job and business tasks. I made one for you!
📺. Watching: Severance. This Apple TV show is about a surgical procedure called severance that separates your work self from your non-work self, essentially splitting you into two people. And neither has memories of the other. The premise is fascinating, and a bit creepy, and I love that? 😜

6 Ways to Earn More While Working Less — www.denisedt.com
“It’s totally OK and safe for you to earn amazing income without burning yourself out or wringing out every last drop of energy.”
Reading Denise Duffield-Thomas’ post this week reminded me that a big theme of this year is for me to “do less, better,” and I need to get back to thinking in that way. I’ve already started the delegating part of the process. Now I want to work more on batching tasks and prioritizing money-making activities.

I especially love this part:
“Because writing a great newsletter is not really about writing a great newsletter.
It is about discovering and exploring ideas, learning, and self-development. It is about commitment, habit building, and showing up even when you don’t feel you have anything new to say (you always do). It is about creating something from nothing.”
