how I do: #jesspicks coming up on Tuesday! 🎉(#340)
I’m getting so excited about this newsletter training coming up on Tuesday!
Trying to figure out how to get everything ready has been an adventure. I was dealing with so much overthinkery, but then I remembered that Tim Ferris question:
What would this look like if it were simple?
After thinking that through, I realized I already had most of the resources I needed:
Lizzy’s Profitable Live Trainings course and Josh’s Sessions System for inspiration/steps on setting things up, email templates, and content.
Zoom to run the training live (of all the platforms, I’ve done the most virtual stuff on Zoom, so why try something else?) - I did upgrade to Zoom Webinar to try out those features.
Membervault is a tool I already use to sell my coaching services. I set it up to handle payments and can host the video recording once it is done. So, I get two things done in one tool. #winning
Mailchimp integrates with Membervault and will deliver welcome emails and any communication for folks who sign up.
Google Slides for creating slides.
Canva for any needed graphics. My assistant created this one:
After figuring that out, things started to come together. Is everything perfect? Probably not, but it’s not about that; it’s about taking action and moving forward.
And as of this writing, I have four folks signed up! 🎉
For the session, I plan to spend about 30-45 minutes on content and then the rest of the time on Q&A (and yes, the session will be recorded).
I’m off to rest up because I’m starting to feel a tad under the weather, but hopefully, it’s just allergies. 🤞🏾
Can’t wait to see you Tuesday!
On to the picks!

📺. Watching: SMASH. If I ever had an emotional support TV show list, this would easily be in the top 5. I love a show with good music, and the premise is that these two songwriters are creating a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. It’s so great and probably my first introduction to Leslie Odom Jr. I am re-watching it because nostalgia. And they are talking about bringing the Marilyn musical to Broadway. 🤞🏾Talk about life imitating art.
📚. Reading: The Half Sister. I have had this Book of the Month pick at home for quite a while and decided to pick it up, and I’m already halfway through. This girl shows up out of the blue at this family’s house, claiming to be their half-sister, but of course, it seems like she’s up to something. And she’s not the only one. Dun, dun dun.

How To Free Up Two Hours In Your Day
“To free up two hours of your work day, all you have to do is free up 15 minutes of every hour.
The best way to do that is to look at the activities you spend most of your time doing and figure out how you can shave a little bit of time off of them.”
I like this approach to freeing up time - where can you grab 15 minutes a few times in your day? You can use the extra time to work on your side hustle! 😉
