...By stepping out of your box, you donβt have to settle for what you are β you get to create who you want to become.β ~Howard WalsteinThis week I had Monday off work so I chose to spend it on a bit of #sidehustlelife and worked on a blog post (in the picks below). I want to show up more on my blog this year so I felt like taking the time to write was a great first step. I spent the afternoon with my mom and my nephew. We put together a puzzle, watched some Sesame Street (which has some pretty awesome songs btw) and hung out. I love how even the smallest things make him happy (like hiding puzzle pieces from his aunt π€·π½ββοΈ). It was such a perfect start to the week. Something else that happened this week? I DID IMPROV!! It has been one of the scarier things on my bucket list for awhile. Since we had an event at work, I figured I had no more excuses. I learned that I take myself way too seriously and need to relax and have more fun. I also learned that understanding improv helps you be a better employee, manager, coworker, human. I also learned that hey I did something scary and SURVIVED. And honestly I feel so much better for having done it. Next week will be jam-packed with events as we officially kick off a 2019 mentoring program (I'm gonna be a mentor!) and Career Camp at General Assembly (I'm speaking on the "How to be a Side-Hustler" Panel).Hope your week has been equal parts productive and happy. On to the picks!
