I am EXHAUSTED. But it’s that “good exhausted” where you smile at the reasons. The main reason? Fear Experiment. Over 20 adults got together and then did scary-exciting things with each other. Improv. Broadway. Storytelling. And we inspired ourselves, each other, and our socially distanced crowd.
It was amazing and incredible and all the positive adjectives you can name, even more so because of the rollercoaster ride we took to get here. First, we were supposed to do this show in March 2020 and went on lockdown a week prior. Then, after being rescheduled a few times, we persisted. Our fantastic leader Saya persisted. And we pulled it off. Taking our final bows with standing ovations and hugs while singing Seasons of Love was a perfect end to this 20ish month journey.
Getting out of your comfort zone is, ahem, uncomfortable. And scary. And wobbly. But I have to say every time I have done it, I have grown. It has made me learn. It has made me better. It has made me a little more agile. Granted, you don’t have to learn Broadway songs, or do improv, or tell stories as we did, but there could be something you can do to take a tiny baby step towards growth. You could:
📚Read a book in a genre you’ve never read before
🛒Change your route to the grocery store
🍱Try a new food cuisine (I may be trying Korean soon! 😲)
✅Cross something off your bucket list
📝Take a workshop in something you've always wanted to learn. If you pick anything here, trust me you will grow and meet some awesome humans.
🚶🏾♀️Explore a new area of your city.
🧩Create a new offering for your business. Trial it for a month.
Baby steps matter.
Pick something small you can do in the next week to shake things up. And I’d love it if you would reply to me and let me know what it is. I will happily cheer you on! 🥳
For me, after trialing a couple of Voxer-related things, I’m working on creating a session where folks can pick my brain about side hustle and newsletter stuff. Wish me luck!
Growth is scary for sure. But try not to let that fear stop you from becoming the person you are meant to be.
On to the picks!
P.S. I believe in you. 💖

📺. Watching: Rizzoli & Isles. Yes, I know, I know. Another show that I probably should have watched YEARS ago. Female leads. One a homicide detective. One a medical examiner. Their friendship is priceless. Suffice to say, I was an instant fan and already through season one.
🎧. Listening: Fear Experiment 13 Playlist. I first heard these songs during dress rehearsal and whisper-threatened Saya for the playlist. And she delivered! Relive the soundtrack of the show with me. And dance in your chair. 💃🏾
💰.Tool: Swapstack. If you are a newsletter writer looking for sponsors, get on Swapstack. I’ve been able to secure two sponsors in the past month. They make it easy, and there is even a 1-click intro to sponsors. Also, if you cannot get a sponsor, plug & play partnerships are available where you can earn affiliate dollars.

How To Republish Your Content And 10x Your Views — nicolascole77.medium.com
“It’s your content. Which means you own it, and you can publish it and republish it anywhere you’d like.”
This idea of repurposing keeps showing up for me, but I have always struggled with the how. I get the idea in theory, but I like to see frameworks, examples, or processes that I can use. This one by Nicolas Cole seems doable. To sum it up:
Write your content
Publish it on your primary platform (i.e., Twitter, your blog)
Copy/paste your content as an answer to a Quora question
Copy/paste your content on Medium
Copy/paste your content on LinkedIn
I already do the first two steps with my newsletter as my primary platform. Reposting on Medium and Linkedin could be a good strategy for sure.
For the exhausted. — stephaniepollock.com
September is typically a time to take advantage of that “back to school energy.” But this month, in particular, is just exhausting for lots of us.
Steph Pollock understands and encourages us to meet ourselves where we are, look for small wins, and simplify everything.
“If you’re tired, be tired. If you’re operating at 60%, let that 60% be ok. If this season is starting off slowly when you’d hoped it would ramp up quickly, trust that there will be seasons ahead where you can jump in with both feet and full of energy, even if this isn’t the one.”
