Shout-out to Madison Mellish for buying me coffee. She has an amazing newsletter which helps Mondays suck less, called Your Weekly W(h)ine, featuring wine tips, dog photos and more. Thank you for the support! ☕️--A couple of weeks ago I completed training to be a facilitator of Google's #IamRemarkable program. This initiative is all about empowering people (especially women and underrepresented groups) to get better at self promotion and celebrating their accomplishments. When I first read about it, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. Because I deal with impostor syndrome and struggle to self-promote quite often. And I want to help myself and others be better at it. You ever hear that phrase: It's not what you know, it's who you know? I heard a slightly different version of this years ago. It's not what you know, it's who knows what you know.Sometimes it's not enough to simply be known. What do you want to be known for? How can people recommend you for things or connect you to opportunity? It's important for people to know your accomplishments. It's important for people to know what types of contributions you can make.I did the #IamRemarkable workshop for 10 amazing women in my community this week. It was nerve-wracking for sure as it was my first session, but once we started chatting and doing the exercises, all of the nerves melted away. It made me realize how important this work is. Because self-promotion is a skill. A muscle that we can continuously strengthen and practice until we get better at it. And I truly believe that the more we share our accomplishments with others, the less we will feel like impostors. And that will help us from a self-love standpoint. All in all, that was the highlight of my week! I'm looking forward to doing more of these workshops and creating space for people to be remarkable. If you are interested in attending a future #IamRemarkable workshop (hoping to run another one in September), hit reply and let me know!On to the picks!P.S Have you had any wins lately because of anything I've sent you? If so, I'd love to hear about 'em! Would you mind dropping me a reply?
