It's JUNE!! This year is almost halfway over - which is crazy to think about. This past weekend, I was sooo lazy - basically stayed in bed, watched TV and made sandwiches for me and grandma so I didn't have to cook. It was GLORIOUS.This week has been super productive too - we are killing it at Sprk'd this week and planning something new (hint: it's a video series) so stay tuned on that! I was able to help with facilitation for a workshop related to diversity and inclusion. And I came up with a new possible offer for my biz and I have two clients to work with next week to test it out! 🙌🏾In the background of it all, I had been ruminating over a decision I made to not participate in a program for a period of time. I was OK with my decision until I saw that there were only a few other black women on the list and felt a bit of guilt because #representationmatters. I think this is what led to my insomnia the other night. I kept seeing signs to say "yes" and signs to say "no". And then I remembered my gurl L'Oreal's "yes test" and it made the decision much easier for me. Because ultimately the reasons I had made to sit out this period in the first place still existed - which were really trying to figure out my work and biz situation and just taking some time for a bit of rest. And while it would be a great opportunity to help someone else, I wouldn't be able to show up fully. And that's not good for anyone. Sometimes saying no is truly an act of self-care. It's something that I'm learning and struggling with and adopting all at the same time. Because it's true: you can't pour from an empty cup.Take a look at your priorities and commitments and think through what you might need to say no to, or what commitments you can step away from to really make this the year you take your side hustle up a level. On to the picks!P.S. If you are looking for a new show to binge, check out What/If on Netflix. It starts like Indecent Proposal and I'll just stop there...
