Is it me or has this week been incredibly LONG? I woke up Tuesday thinking it was Wednesday and everything went downhill from there. So I'm happy it's over! 😁Last night, I was on my FOURTH panel for June - crazy right? It's definitely been an awesome month for me in the speaking world. Our group of amazing black women talked about #blackgirlmagic and its impact on social media, along with discussing why social media has become such a platform for black people in general. It came down to the ease at which people can start an account and immediately share their voices. It was definitely a great time - my girl Monique took some photos. The main takeaway that I shared centered around the importance of being visible - that we have a responsibility to be seen and share our stories and our journeys. The more we do it, the more others will see it and be inspired and empowered to do the same. In other news, I spent some time updating my LinkedIn profile and picture because it feels really good to keep it up to date. Are we linked? If not, come on over and send me a connection request. I also set up an account on Fiverr because it seems to be really taking off as a way to get great talent on a low budget. I hired someone to come up with a couple of social media posts for me that I can use on my Facebook so I'll let you know how it goes. AND I set up my own gig (!!!). So if you need help starting your side hustle or getting unstuck you can borrow my brain for $5 and 15 minutes! I've offered this service for free before (and I may again) but I do notice that there are a lot of people who don't show up when things are free so this is a good experiment to see what happens. This weekend, I'm excited to spend some time thinking about more website messaging so I can get all of that info to my designer next week! What have you experimented with recently that you learned something from? Hit reply and let me know.Have a wonderful weekend! On to the picks for the week!P.S. I'm digging Spotify's Summer Rewind - it's a curated playlist based on your old summer favorites.
