“This is the part when I break free.” 🕊️~Ariana Grande
Go slower. Rest sooner. Focus smaller. It all still counts. (#439)
My inbox and social feeds are full of “finish strong!!” energy and 12-day challenges and shiny new planners and “let’s make 2026 your year!” vibes.
But based on last week’s poll?
Most of you said managing energy + overwhelm is the hardest part right now.
(Which… yeah. Same.)
And sure, we can talk tactics and systems. But here’s what I think we actually need more of:
Permission.
P is for Permission (Slips) 🌸✨
(and choosing what actually supports you)
This week, I’m handing out permission slips.
Pick the one you need most.
Save the rest for a rainy day.
—
🐢. Permission Slip #1: You’re allowed to go at your own pace.
Your work doesn’t need to happen in big heroic bursts.
It can happen in margins, pockets, five-minute windows during the day.
You don’t have to “catch up.”
You just get to continue.
👉🏾 Pep Talk: Read this when you feel behind.
💆🏾♀️. Permission Slip #2: You’re allowed to rest before your reserves run out.
You do not need to earn rest.
Naps count. Pauses count. Staring into space counts.
When your body whispers “pause,” you don’t have to negotiate with it.
👉🏾 Pep Talk: Read this when you’re exhausted.
🌱. Permission Slip #3: You’re allowed to focus on one tiny thing.
Not the whole plan.
Not the whole list.
Not the whole future.
Just one step that moves you forward.
👉🏾 Pep Talk: Read this when you don’t know what to prioritize.
🔄. Permission Slip #4: You’re allowed to come back slowly.
If you’ve been in a fog…
If your side hustle has been sleeping…
If life pulled you under…
You can return gently.
Softly.
Imperfectly.
There’s no penalty for showing up late.
👉🏾 Pep Talk: Read this when you’re starting again.
🛑. Permission Slip #5: You’re allowed to have needs.
Real ones. Non-negotiable ones.
Boundaries don’t make you difficult. They make things more possible.
Protecting your peace is productive.
👉🏾 Pep Talk: Read this when you need boundaries.
🔑. Permission Slip #6: You’re allowed to make things easier.
Automate it. Template it. Delete it.
Ask for help.
Choose the keyless version of the hard thing.
Ease is not lazy.
Ease is wise.
👉🏾 Pep Talk: Read this when everything feels too hard.

💬 Over to you: Which permission slip did you need most this week?
(I’m always curious, and your answer helps me know what to create next.)
On to the picks!
P.S. You’re allowed to be a whole human while you build this thing. You’re doing great, even if it feels slow. Especially if it feels slow. 💖

soft little reinforcements for your permission era
🌸. 8 more permission slips for you… In case today calls for a reminder that you can say no, rest, slow down, or let go of things that no longer fit (even gifts!). Which one lands for you right now?
And then there’s this tiny reflection from Tanya Moushi (a whole pep talk on its own):
What if today you simply attempted a sort of radical acceptance?
You didn’t criticize yourself, you didn’t lament the fact that you are the way you are, or suck at that thing you suck at.
What if just for today you reinforced how fucking awesome you are? How far you’ve come? How hard you fell and how you got back up?
How at least you’re trying––and that’s more than other people can say.
I think that would be a good plan.
