It has been extremely hard to juggle things these last few weeks. I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed, so I had to pull out my old time blocking routine again. It’s still a work in progress but doing certain things during blocks on certain days is already helping me feel more organized. And helping me work a little smarter. There is something to be said for batching tasks together.And what’s helped me a ton? Still being able to see the occasional “You’ve got money” Paypal notifications even though I’m at the day job. How? Affiliate marketing!If you are not familiar, affiliate marketing is a way to make money by promoting other people’s products. You are given a link to use and then if someone purchases that product, tool or service, you get a commission. Oftentimes, that’s in the form of money, but sometimes it can also lead to credits or discounts on that product.I have been going all in on learning affiliate marketing over the past year and I’m beginning to make a steady income from it. I love this income stream for three key reasons:It doesn’t take a huge amount of time or energy to get started. You can add affiliate links to content that’s already published so there is not a lot of upfront work to do.You don’t need to create your own products or services to sell. Services are harder for us to offer as side hustlers as our time is super limited and oftentimes our energy too. And creating products requires some upfront time to figure out what your customers want and need.It’s probably something you are doing anyway. If you are ever asked, “how do you _____?” or “what tool do you use for _____?” You are most likely recommending products anyways.
