Happy August! 🌻
Before we jump into a new month, I thought it would be fun to look back at a few things that made me smile in July:
✨. Having a few conversations that helped me get clearer about the kind of work I’m looking for…which led to posting an official “open to work” post on LinkedIn.
🤞🏾. Completing take-home assignments for two different roles. I’ll find out what comes next soon, but for now, I’m celebrating making it this far.
💃🏾. Practicing line dancing with a friend at 3:00 on a random weekday afternoon.
🏖️. Spending a Saturday at the beach for my sister’s birthday. It had been more than a decade since my last beach day, and I loved everything about it. (Well...maybe not bringing half the beach home with me. 😂)
🥳. Celebrating 4 years of having Sisterlocks. What a journey it’s been.
🎬. Seeing The Odyssey. I really enjoyed it, even though I felt a little lost. Now I want to read up on it and watch it again, with subtitles. Because some of the dialogue was hard to follow.
🌸. Building the Mini Orchid LEGO set. It’s so pretty.
🤖. Starting Couch to 5K for AI. I’m still early in the course (will start week 2 next week), but so far, I like it. The lessons are short (10 minutes or less), and Hilary does a great job explaining not just what to prompt, but why.
🎭. Seeing & Juliet. OMG, it was so good. I was singing along the whole time. And I was in the same room as Joey Fatone. Honestly, what more needs to be said? 😂
💕. Spending time with friends through a mix of planned get-togethers and spontaneous "What are you doing tonight?" texts.
Now, don’t get me wrong… there were still some hard days, uncertain moments, and plenty of things I’m still figuring out.
But there was also music. Movement. Friends. Progress. Sunshine.
And a whole lot of reasons to smile.
