“The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.” ⏳~Michael Altshuler
I am slowly getting into the habit of posting a blog post or updating an older post every (other) week for the past couple of months. Some weeks are better than others, but I am already feeling good about my progress. 🥳 #babysteps
This week, I updated a blog post where I wrote about time management mantras that help while I do all the juggling (copying the key points here, so you don’t have to click away if you don’t want to, but the full blog post is here):
“If it’s not in my calendar, it’s not real.”
To-do lists are great but pair them with your calendar. Because when it’s on your calendar, you’ve already blocked off time to get it done, and you’ll get reminded about it, so it’s an excellent way to know what you need to be working on and when.
“Multitasking is evil.”
I used to think I was THE QUEEN of multitasking, and sometimes I still do. But I have to say when I work on one thing and only one thing, I can focus so much better, and it helps me knock it out.
“The power of three will set you free.”
(Yes, that is a Charmed reference 🧙🏾♀️ - iykyk).
I have found that this is a great way to think about big projects or tasks. See if there is a way to break it down into three smaller tasks, and maybe each of those can become even tinier tasks. For example, perhaps one of your week’s tasks is writing a blog post. We can break this down even more:
Figure out a topic
Write the first draft
Find an image
As side hustlers, finding the time and energy to work on #allthethings can feel almost impossible sometimes. So keep one of these mantras in mind when scheduling your days.

📚. Reading: Building a Second Brain: A Proven Method to Organize Your Digital Life and Unlock Your Creative Potential. Tiago Forte goes into detail to teach us how to create a system for capturing ideas/notes/thoughts. I’m about a quarter of the way through, but I’m enjoying it so far and hoping to grab some tips. My notes are scattered everywhere without much organization, so I hope to build a better system.
📺. Watching: Anatomy of a Scandal. This Netflix show had me interested probably within the first 10 minutes. We find out this guy (the prime minister’s best friend and on his staff) has an affair with one of his workers. Later in that same episode, we find out that that same worker has accused the man of rape, and there will be a trial. Drama/thriller vibes.

The Part Time Creator Manifesto — www.swyx.io
“Being on social media exposed me to a lot of hustle porn constantly telling me to quit my job. That freedom is an all-or-nothing nirvana, and once you taste it, you don’t go back. Isn’t that how this movie script is supposed to go?
I want a new script for Part Time Creators. We need to define what it is, why it’s worth doing, make it work, then make it cool.”
I love that there is starting to be more talk and attention around part-time entrepreneurship. This one is on my to-read list because there is much to digest here.
