Oh, I feel this one often. When life's unpredictable, it can really make consistency feel impossible.

But maybe we reframe it. It's not so much about being consistent. It's about continuing to come back. Continuing to show up.

When things get a bit busy and overwhelming, you can think about in terms of "minimum viable progress". Ask yourself, "What's the smallest step I can take today to keep the momentum going?"

That could look like:

- Sending a quick email to a past client letting them know about a new offer or to check in

- Doing a "lite" version of your newsletter (or an offer). If you notice, I did this when I was sick so I could still show up, just in a smaller way

- Setting a 15-minute timer and knocking out tiny task, like organizing your notes, or working on an outline for your next post.

- There are more ideas for tiny tasks here: https://techbizgurl.com/the-5-minute-side-hustle-boost/

Consistency can look different from week to week (and even day to day) and that's okay.

Listen to your body and honor the capacity that you have. And see if there is a way you can still show up.

Small still counts. :)

Please let me know if that helps - and if you want to brainstorm some ways to show up in a smaller way, reply and lemme know.

Thank you SO much, Jessica! These are such helpful tips and I love your blog post too, I'm saving it and going to try to make my own 5-minute to do list soon, and love the idea of setting a 15-minute timer and knocking out a specific task. Sometimes, multitasking gets in the way and focusing on just one thing would probably be most productive! Hope you have a wonderful day and thank you again for all of this helpful info! :)

Thanks so much Christine! I really hope so. :)

In terms of ideas, here’s a question that might help:

Ask yourself, “Which idea feels the lightest right now? Or the most fun?”

Not the smartest or the one that'll make you the most money. But one that feels doable or a little fun to experiment with this week.

Keep in mind, this isn't forever. You're just choosing something to test - and maybe have a 15-minute playdate with.

Another thing you can try is to give your top 2 or 3 ideas a quick gut check with these:

- Which one would I be excited to talk about this week?

- Which one feels the least overwhelming (or least heavy) to take action on?

- If I only had 30 minutes today, which one would I want to work on?

Let me know if that helps!

In terms of #3 and consistency, something else to ask yourself:

"What’s the smallest step I can take today to keep the momentum going?"

For me, while I was sick, for example, I continued to send my newsletter (so I was able to still show up) but I made it a lot smaller. Is there a version of that you can do for yourself?

And if you want to talk through your options, send them over. I'm happy to help you think it through.

Here’s a question that might help when you have so many ideas and not sure which one to do first:

You’ve got this!
