It's been a great week. I've been starting to think through some things I want to get done this quarter. I know that I really want to start building up the Tech Biz Gurl brand a little more. Took a few baby steps this week that I'm super proud of:Changed the name of my Facebook fan page from "Jessica Williams - Tech Biz Gurl" to simply Tech Biz Gurl. Updated the description of this newsletter (!!) and made it a lot shorter and super focused: #jesspicks is a hand-picked roundup of the best resources, inspiration, and tools for side hustlers. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday.Just doing those two small things make me feel that I'm making progress and getting clearer on a direction for my brand. 🙌🏾Yesterday, I also participated in a Women in Tech Breakfast and delivered a talk about mindset and how much that can affect women's day to day life. Things like impostor syndrome, feeling like a fraud and that you don't belong can create major challenges for women and limit their opportunities. It's important to talk about this kind of stuff because I think a lot of us secretly struggle with it and we need to start a dialogue on how to conquer it. A big part of that is taking little steps to get out of your comfort zone, stretching yourself, and building your confidence one new experience at a time. Along with surrounding yourself with others dealing with similar issues. Will be thinking on this some more this weekend because I definitely want to keep talking about it in the future. How about you? Have you taken a baby step this week? Something out of your comfort zone? Hit reply and let me know. Let's celebrate together. 🥂On to the picks for the week!P.S. This past week I totally binged Big Little Lies and 13 Reasons Why. Both series are based on books that tackle issues like bullying and domestic violence. Highly recommend! P.P.S. I'm always a Spotify #ThrowbackThursday fan, but this week's roundup, in particular, is the best curation I've heard in awhile.
