Last weekend, I spent at Blavity's #EmpowerHer conference and it was truly inspiring to hear from speakers like Luvvie Ajayi, Lena Waithe, and Robin Thede. It truly was a weekend filled with #BlackGirlMagic and so many gems were dropped. It was also just great to be in a room with other black women who get it, who understand what it's like to want to bend because you're a minority or who feels the need to speak up for the same reason. It's really making me consider my role in this grand scheme of things especially as a black woman in tech and in business and how I may be able to use my voice to help others. 💯This week was jam-packed with so many amazing things, including our fourth WiSTEM showcase. It is always an experience to look out at a packed room of people who believe in our program, who support us and the women entrepreneurs and it's truly an inspirational night all around. In other news, I'm participating in two panels next week: one on bootstrapping on a budget (6/21) and one on diversity in tech (6/23) as part of TechWeek. If you're in Chicago, come on out. Would love to see you! My goal this weekend is to rest a little bit and think through some messaging to go with the side hustler focus for techbizgurl.com. And I'm attending this Life of Yes Bootcamp to learn how to better sell and promote myself which I'm really looking forward to. Saya is really great at creating experiences that get you uncomfortable in a good way! So I'm scared-excited. 🤓What is one thing you are scared-excited to do/try/accomplish before the end of the year? Hit reply and let me know.On to the picks for the week!P.S. I saw Wonder Woman yesterday. OMG SO GOOD and a perfect end to what became a #gurlpower week! P.P.S. Shania Twain has a new song. It's perfect.
