your top 5 side hustler struggles... (#408)
You spoke, I listened! Or more accurately… you replied, and I read. 😆
Last week, I asked for insight into your biggest side hustle struggles. Of the list I shared, here are the 5 that resonated the most:
Motivation during pauses - “I want to know how I can stay motivated if progress is slow or I have to pause for a few weeks.”
Prioritizing tasks - “I want to know what to focus on first.”
Working at your own pace - “I want to go at my own pace without feeling behind.”
Focusing on what matters - “I want to understand what's most important now versus later.”
Finding someone who gets it - “I want someone who understands what it's like to juggle everything I’m juggling.”
I see what’s happening here! 👀
You need clarity, flexibility, and real support — makes total sense. I’m right there with you.
A lot of you also mentioned feeling stuck after life throws curveballs or dealing with an unpredictable schedule. I’m thinking through ways to make those moments easier for both of us.
But, I want to switch gears for a sec, and talk marketing. Because another thing I hear a lot? Finding ways to promote your business that don’t feel overwhelming. So I’d love your take on these:
“I want to find clients/customers without feeling overwhelmed or spending hours creating content”
“I want simple ways to grow my audience without being on social media all day”
“I want to talk about my side hustle without my employer finding out or causing conflicts with my day job”
Same as last week — reply and let me know which one resonates!
And remember:
✨ Those small pockets of time? They COUNT.
✨ That one email you wrote while waiting for a meeting? Counts.
✨ That quick voice note of ideas you recorded during your afternoon walk? Also counts.
You don’t have to follow the “be everywhere, post daily, hustle harder” playbook. Your side hustle should fit your life. And I’m here to help you do just that.
Thank you so much for being part of this conversation. You’re shaping my next steps, and I appreciate you more than you know.
On to the picks! ✨
P.S. Baby steps count. Always.
P.P.S. Speaking of small pockets of time, here’s a 5-minute to do list I created for us. Let’s keep things moving, one small step at a time.

I saw a few answers this week that I thought you might appreciate:
Should you quit your job and start a business? You know my answer! 😉 My friend Shaily also offers come offers some good insights in this 1.5 min post.
Should you still be investing right now? As someone who just set up investment accounts last year, I felt much better once I listened to Clo Bare’s answer (hint: it’s a long game)
This week’s theme? REST. Mostly physical. My neck and shoulders are very angry with me, and it’s pushing me to think about things like posture (did you sit up straight just now?), breathing (I chest breathe more than I realize) and time in front of the computer (the tech neck struggle is REAL). So I’m planning to lean into a few tools to help me out:
Down Dog Yoga app - I tried a chair yoga class this week, and it was so good. I plan on using the app more often.
My Oura ring - I got on this bandwagon last year, and I love it more than my old Fitbit. I want to start using the hourly notification to “stretch my legs” as a reminder to get away from the screen, walk around, and do some shoulder/neck rolls.
If you have multiple Gmail accounts: This week, I set up Google Profiles (thanks for the tip Lauren!) in the Chrome browser on my Mac. One for personal, one for work, and one for the business. It’s been awesome for flipping between different email accounts, calendars and tasks. If you find yourself constantly logging in and out of accounts or getting notifications for work while trying to focus on your side hustle (or vice versa), this setup might help create better boundaries.
