“You are free to let June be what June needs to be.” ☀️ ~Morgan Harper Nichols
As part of a June challenge for Chorus meditation, I am committing to taking more joy breaks, an idea I got from one of my coaching clients. Sometimes that looks like taking a 5-minute dance break, doing a meditation, reading a few pages of a book, or watching something fun on TikTok. All of these breaks have been great, but I have been longing for something more.
When I saw this week’s Morgan Harper Nichols quote, it really spoke to me. I have been feeling the need to take a newsletter break for a bit. I’m not sure if it’s burnout or poor mental health. But, on the other hand, it could be that I need a pause and a reset --and it might be all of those things.
I think June needs to be a prolonged joy break for me. This newsletter and curating for you every week is something I love to do, but I’ve been feeling a bit lost about it if I’m honest. So I realize I need to sit with that for a little while and think through what might be next.
I also have some self-care activities lined up: massage, yoga, a Van Gogh exhibit, and a Human Design session with my coach.
I’ll leave you with an excerpt from Morgan’s poem:
You are free
to let June be
what June needs to be.
Let it feel like the soft fire
of a new morning sun.
Let it be an invitation
right in the middle of the year
to continue
to become.
Keep becoming
keep becoming
who you are meant to be,
For perhaps even here,
in June,
there is still time for new beginnings.
What does June need to be for you? Think about it and let it be.
Be back on 6/26! 👋🏾💖

💰 Course: 4 different ways you can monetize a brand new website from day 1. Kimi Kinsey, a coach I follow, just started a new website a week ago, and she has already made an Amazon affiliate sale. This free 17-minute training tells you a few different ways to make money from your site right away.
📺 Watching: Panic. When I first saw the preview for this, it made me think of Nerve with Emma Roberts and Dave Franco (also a good time). However, this show was a pleasant, thrilling surprise. There’s a small town, and the only way to get out of it is to play this game called Panic and win enough $$ to leave. Think cliff diving, lots of things to do with heights, and conquering fears. Had me on the edge of my seat.
🎧. Listening: My Favorite Podcasts. I don’t always listen to podcasts, but it’s probably one of these five when I do. Shout out to Podmmunity for featuring me as one of their guest curators.

On living in limbo — stephaniepollock.com
“Am I waiting for permission to make this choice?
Am I waiting to feel 100% confident before I begin?
Am I worried if I pick a path it might not work, and then what?
Am I hoping a flash of insight will come with the answers?
Am I scared to commit for fear of keeping things up or being held to my decision?”
Sometimes it’s downright uncomfortable to be in limbo. But, I feel like I’m there in some aspects of my life, so Steph’s Leadership Letter this week really spoke to me. So, I am choosing to pause because I feel like I need to understand my options better. But I think I will come out of it ready to try some new things.

I love this post from my gurl L’Oreal. Sometimes I think we tend to keep doing things despite our mental health, and I’m learning that you’ll eventually hit a wall if you keep doing that. Thank you for the reminder that there are some great ways we can set boundaries around our mental health:
“There is so much power in saying “no” and walking away from that which is no longer serving you—be it a job, a relationship, or even a bad book.”
