As part of a June challenge for Chorus meditation, I am committing to taking more joy breaks, an idea I got from one of my coaching clients. Sometimes that looks like taking a 5-minute dance break, doing a meditation, reading a few pages of a book, or watching something fun on TikTok. All of these breaks have been great, but I have been longing for something more. When I saw this week’s Morgan Harper Nichols quote, it really spoke to me. I have been feeling the need to take a newsletter break for a bit. I’m not sure if it’s burnout or poor mental health. But, on the other hand, it could be that I need a pause and a reset --and it might be all of those things.I think June needs to be a prolonged joy break for me. This newsletter and curating for you every week is something I love to do, but I’ve been feeling a bit lost about it if I’m honest. So I realize I need to sit with that for a little while and think through what might be next.I also have some self-care activities lined up: massage, yoga, a Van Gogh exhibit, and a Human Design session with my coach.I’ll leave you with an excerpt from Morgan’s poem:You are freeto let June bewhat June needs to be.Let it feel like the soft fireof a new morning sun.Let it be an invitationright in the middle of the yearto continueto become.Keep becomingkeep becomingwho you are meant to be,For perhaps even here,in June, there is still time for new beginnings. What does June need to be for you? Think about it and let it be. Be back on 6/26! 👋🏾💖On to the picks!
