Rest in Peace Toni Morrison: a woman known for helping "Black women to heal by reclaiming our stories, reclaiming historically White and male spaces, and most importantly reclaiming our sense of self." Her legacy will continue to live on. ❤️This week has been a busy one. I moderated a panel at an event focused on providing job seeker hacks to black women. It was amazing. A couple of takeaways:It is important to be your authentic self always. Even if that means rocking your natural hair in the interview process. 💁🏾♀️Let people know who you are and what you are excited about (this can help with getting jobs and promotions).Soft skills like communication, team work, and leadership? Those can be #gamechangers during the application process. Because those skills often can't be taught. Whereas hard skills can.I am excited to see more of these conversations happening because they are needed, so I'm really excited about my friend Deena's SXSW proposed talk: Diversity & Inclusion: Buzzword, Movement, or BS? You can vote for it to be picked here.On the #sidehustle front, I've been spending the past week doing an audit of all of my affiliate partnerships which I realize that I need to do on a more consistent basis. #quarterlytasksExcited to do more with affiliate marketing as an income stream in the coming months. On to the picks!
