Shout out to Nicole Palidwor and Melissa Hicks for buying me coffees! ☕️ Thank you!Influence Digest recently voted Nicole as one of the Top 15 Coaches in Denver for 2022. If you know of any openings in employee development programming, you can reach out to her here!Melissa is a #MedX ePatient Scholar who teaches and loves patient experience and research. She’s always stitching something fantastic, even notes!--Last week, I wasn’t able to rally. It was an overwhelming week, and by the time Friday came, I couldn’t summon the energy to put together a newsletter issue I could be happy with.So I emailed the sponsor booked for that day, apologized, and let them know that I wouldn’t be sending an issue along with sending them a refund. It wasn’t my finest moment, and I felt a lot of guilt. I still do. But ultimately, I’d rather skip a week than put together an issue when my heart wasn’t truly in it.Sometimes we miss sending newsletters, have to cancel appointments, and say no to opportunities we would have jumped at in the past. It’s hard, but I think it’s part of understanding what we can handle at any given moment and honoring our capacity. And it may not seem like it, but it’s a sign of growth. With the highs of entrepreneurship, there are also lows. By sharing some of my lows, I hope you know that it’s OK to have them. It can be hard out here when all we see are the good things. This journey ebbs and flows like anything else.I feel a little better this week, but I realize this season is a bit weird as things are changing in a few areas, calling on me to find comfort in what I’m calling “the messy middle.” All while taking steps to heal my neck and shoulder. So I think a big realization for me is acknowledging that a lot is going on and re-adjusting some things.Grace and rest (and probably the occasional one-armed dance break) will get me through. And taking that step back is necessary as it’ll give me some space and clarity to find a new rhythm moving forward. On to the picks!
